In my opinion it is because in some twisted way constant rejection proves to JWs that they are on that "narrow road leading to life," while all others are on a "road leading to destruction." Imagene if the majority of the public became converts ... how then could followers claim to be "chosen ones. " No, social maryrdom has its rewards in the minds of mental midgets.

Why exactly, DO the JWs continue to beat on doors? What is the POINT?
by WuzLovesDubs ini mean...it accomplishes nothing save making them pests all over the planet.
they dont get money from it, not enough to make any damn difference anyway...the magazines are limited to only two a month and they dont do subscriptions any more.
how many people actually are brought in this way?

What I have come to believe over the past sixty years is summed up in the words of an old song: "You've got to walk that loneome valley, you've got to walk it by yourself."
To me, the truth is that we are all really alone in this existence. People only reach out for others to the extent it benefits them. Our choice is to either individally leave this world a better place without expectation of reward or use up the good left to us by those who came before.
In "Trains, Planes, and Automobiles" John Candy's character had a simple line that I think of during my frequent occasions of peer rejection: "I like me."
22, tell me what you have learned about life and people thru your painful experience. I would imagine you are quite enlightened by now. You may feel isolated, yet I would suggest that the greatest contributors the world has ever known were most often "loners."
In yet another movie: "American Beauty" Lester Burnham narrated at his untimely death that it is hard to be angry when there is so much beauty in the world. He then advised that many would not understand how he could be so appreciative after all he had endured yet closed with the prediction: "but you will."

Any behavior you regret due to JW teaching
by happpyexjw indoes anyone wish they could make amends for mistakes made as a jw?
i tried very hard to follow the teachings very closely, right down to shunning some of my relatives who were df'd.
i also think i was very judgemental and hard on others..

Bless all the "haves."
Yes, I regret the lack of respect I had for money and those who worked hard to get it. Now, I am of little means and deservedly subsist in poverty. Therefore, such a sentence serves as my amends.

I heard a rumor that he farted after someone sabotaged the bread served at the Last supper. It makes sense ... "a little leaven ferments the hole lump"!

What Were Your Consequences For Leaving The "Truth"???
by minimus inwas it as bad as everyone says, that if you leave the organization, you'll go back to the world, get into trouble and suffer?.

My greatest challenge for decades is totally severing myself from an insanity that probably will never leave.
How many recall the movie "Beautiful Mind"? Based on real events, John Nash never achieved mental health until late in life when he came to understand that the voices and people who had controlled his existence for decades were no more than an illusion. A key line included the revelation that the young girl who was influencing him "isn't real" because even after many years "she never gets old."
What has helped me the most was recalling that when John admitted, when asked, that although phantoms over his shoulder might always be talking to him he had no choice but to ignor them ignor.
It's possible but at the same time difficut to eradicate brands forcibly burned into a psyche by selfish herders.
But just as in the movie, once one does, great things are possible

Hackers and Attorneys?
by The Berean ini wonder if there are jw internet hackers working underground at the wtbts to intercept, sanitize, or delete any information which might be damaging to the image of the organization.
also, might i assume that gb attorneys are at the switch ready to threaten any whisleblowers with law-suits in order to discourage sharing of potential negative evidence?.
has anyone experienced such supression?.

Perhaps the important thing is not to blame ourselves for choices people make simply because they are our offspring. I have two boys. One is a financially successful businessman (and Elder) and one just got out of prison ... penniless. I did read a survey yesterday that claims adults without children are reportedly happier. One of the reasons cited was a lack of stress generated by the next generation. Maybe some of the JWs got that part of it right by rufusing to have kids. (Or maybe they're just too repressed to have sex.)
